If we have licenses without annual subscriptions will those stop working?
Perpetual products are not affected by current licensing changes.
How do I find my Admin Console?
Information and instructions about logging in are located on the Adobe Admin Console page.
Will migrating one VIP account through the Admin Console affect any of the other VIP accounts in the Console?
No. If multiple VIPs are held, the transition can be spaced out as desired. Converting one VIP does not force the rest, as long as they are on separate VIP agreements.
How can we combine licenses across multiple Consoles into one Console?
There is no way to revise VIPs or shift them over until they come up for renewal. At this time Admins have a few courses of action they may take:
- VIP licenses can be purchased in the existing console that you want to centralize on. Run a license file to bind them to the new VIP agreement to complete this process; the software will not require a reinstallation.
- Admins can make a VIP agreement without purchases. As licenses expire the replacement can be purchased on this new VIP.
More resources about managing users, license settings, single sign-on and more can be found in the Adobe Administration User guide.
Will the cost change if we migrate mid-year?
There is no added cost to migrate during the term. The SRP for ALL device license options increased by 10% on February 1st, 2019.
Will the new Shared Device License model require a complete reinstall of local applications because it is not compatible with 2018 packages?
Yes. When Adobe changes versions Admins must uninstall and reinstall the software. Updates to current versions can be pushed out within the current package. Please note, Shared Device Licensing has new system requirements than previous licensing options. Refer to the Adobe System Requirements page for specifications.
What will happen with our single app device licenses during migration?
When migrating single app device licenses they will be converted to an all apps shared device license at no additional cost for the remainder of the term.
Can we switch between ID types (Federated ID/Enterprise ID/Adobe ID) at a later date?
Yes. Editing identity types can be done through the Admin Console if changing from an Adobe ID to an Enterprise or Federated ID. The Adobe Manage Identity Types page provides instructions on how to do this. In order to switch from Enterprise ID to Federated ID you will need to contact Adobe Support for assistance.
Can we use different ID types for staff and students? For example, Federated ID for staff and Enterprise ID for students? Our staff have active directory accounts but our students have Google accounts in a separate domain.
Not if they are on the same VIP License. You can have more than one domain on one VIP License but you cannot specify them as different ID types. If you want two separate types you will have to split your VIP, which must be done during set-up.
How will migrating ID type affect content saved to user accounts?
Saved work will not be affected or interrupted. Migration modifies the ID types and the permissions behind it. Specific information about Automated Asset Migration is available on Adobe’s FAQ page.
