About Higher Education Licensing
OETC offers two ways to license Creative Cloud: Adobe ETLA and Adobe VIP
Both are subscription licenses that enable OETC Higher Education members to purchase the latest Creative Cloud software while benefiting from the larger buying power of the consortium, gaining the convenience of a single purchase, and achieving budget certainty for keeping up-to-date with Adobe products.
About Adobe ELTA
OETC has negotiated a custom Enterprise Term Licensing Agreement (ETLA) with Adobe. This FTE-based agreement enables OETC Higher Education members to purchase for their entire institution.
About Adobe VIP
For Higher Education members purchasing for individual computers or individual users, OETC offers the Adobe Value Incentive Plan (VIP) to facilitate smaller purchases, also with no minimum FTE requirement.
ETLA or VIP: Which one should I license with?
The first step is to choose how you would prefer to license—by institution, by workgroup or department, or by classroom, lab or individual—and then select the ETLA or VIP license that best suits your needs.
Adobe ETLA
Adobe ETLA allows you to purchase for an entire institution and includes the following features:
- License for all FTE
- Flexible licensing options
- Includes complete set of Creative Cloud applications
- Online services and storage included
- Enterprise support and Expert services
- Behance custom network optional
- 2GB cloud storage
- Collaboration tools
- Adobe Expert Services optional
- Adobe Support
There are two options available.
Option #1: Full FTE
- Institutions may opt to license Creative Cloud Enterprise (including Acrobat Professional) for their full FTE and gain named user access for faculty and staff and unlimited serialized lab deployment. Add-on options are also available. Price is based on an annual cost within a three-year agreement.
Option #2: Hybrid FTE
- Acrobat Professional
- Creative Cloud Enterprise
- Under the hybrid option, institutions license Creative Cloud for every installed instance of the software (licensing must meet or exceed 25% of their full FTE), and they must also license 100% of their FTE for Acrobat Professional. Add-on options are also available. Prices are based on an annual cost within a three-year agreement.
Adobe VIP
There are two ways to license on VIP.
Purchase for an individual user.
- License for each individual user on an institutional computer with faculty and staff rights to install on two computers, one for work and one for home use (named user licensing)
- Creative Cloud Desktop Applications (single-app option)
- Prices are based on a monthly subscription with a thirteen-month minimum first-time agreement
- Online services and storage included
- Features include:
- Adobe Support
- Adobe Expert Services optional
Purchase for an individual device.
- License for each individual computer, with rights to install on one computer per license (device licensing)
- Creative Cloud Desktop Applications (single-app option)
- Prices are based on a monthly subscription with a thirteen-month minimum first-time agreement
- Online services and storage not included
- Features include:
- Behance ProSite
- 100GB/20GB cloud storage
- Collaboration tools
- 2 Adobe Expert Sessions per year
- Adobe Support
Single-App Option
Both device licensing and named-user licensing allow institutions to opt out of the complete set of Creative Cloud applications and instead license a single application from Creative Cloud Enterprise for a lower monthly price.
